Dennis R. Meakim has a decades-long history of serving clients in various areas of the law. He is admitted to practice in the courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Temple University in 1988 and a Juris Doctor degree in 1991 from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Law-Camden.

Dennis was formerly an attorney with the firm Barbin & O’Connell based in Rockledge, PA and which merged with Howland, Hess, Guinan, Torpey & Cassidy in 2012.

Dennis has successfully represented individuals involved in divorce, custody, child support and Protection From Abuse matters in the five county area (Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Chester and Philadelphia) as well as Camden and Gloucester counties in New Jersey. He also represents several small businesses throughout the Delaware Valley in all aspects of business including start-up, finance and business succession.

In addition, Dennis R. Meakim provides estate planning for individuals, both young and older.  Dennis has learned that the peace of mind that comes along with the signing of a Last Will and Testament, Power of Attorney document, and/or a Living Will is of great value to his clients.  Estate Planning is not just for older people.  It is just as important for younger people, especially new parents and middle-aged persons/empty nesters to set down their wishes and complete these documents in the event a tragedy occurs.

Dennis is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association as well as the Montgomery Bar Association where he has served on the Membership Committee and is a contributor to the quarterly publication, Sidebar.  He was elected as a Director of the Montgomery Bar Association for a three-year term, including 2016, 2017 and 2018.  The Montgomery Bar Association is the largest suburban bar association in Pennsylvania and has over 2,000 members.  Dennis is proud of his opportunity to help lead such a strong organization.

Volunteering has been always been a part of Dennis' life. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of Glenside Fire Company #1 (Secretary 2000-2007). He has coached basketball and baseball in the Glenside Youth Athletic Club, baseball at Old York Road Little League, and basketball at St. Luke the Evangelist CYO and the Fencor AAU programs. He has also been a registered basketball official with a PIAA certification since 2003 and referees varsity contests in both the Bicentennial and Suburban One Leagues as well as local CYO and recreational programs.

Dennis is a native of Upper Moreland Township and currently resides in Glenside, Montgomery County, with his wife, Mary. They have two children and 5 grandchildren.
